Triplicata follows Atilio, the soul of a Calanthe Triplicata flower, trapped inside a cube-shaped prison within a star.
Tormented by a dark, menacing noise, Atilio finds solace only when he paints on the prison walls. Each night, as he completes his artwork, he dreams of entering the painted scenes.
However, after three nights, Atilio can no longer find a new wall to paint, causing the noise to return with greater intensity, and pushing him to the brink of madness.
Atilio must now find a way to escape the cube and reclaim his sanity.
Created by Francisco Gabriel Arbert, Triplicata is a 3D animated virtual reality short film, made from 2019 to 2022 as his final thesis project for DaVinci Multimedia School.
The objective of the film is to explore virtual reality as a powerful narrative tool, blending elements of theatrical staging and traditional cinema with the distinct possibilities offered by animation.
